Pamiętasz o SPF na twarz. A co z dłońmi?

You remember about SPF for your face. But what about your hands?

Most of us know perfectly well that daily sun protection for the face is the foundation of anti-aging care. Sunscreen, serum – today these are standard. Meanwhile, hands, which are one of the most exposed parts of the body, very often remain completely unprotected. And it is precisely hands that reveal age the fastest, just like the face.

Why do hands age so quickly?

The skin on the hands has several characteristics that make it particularly susceptible to photoaging:

  • it is thinner than facial skin,
  • it contains fewer sebaceous glands, so it loses moisture more quickly,
  • it is constantly exposed to UV radiation, wind, frost, detergents, and frequent washing.

SPF not just in summer

There is still a belief that we only need sunscreen in the summer. Meanwhile, UV protection should be used all year round – even in winter.

Why?

  • UVA radiation, responsible for skin aging, acts regardless of the season or weather.
  • Snow reflects up to 80% of UV radiation, increasing skin exposure to the sun – just like sand on a beach.
  • In winter, the skin on the hands is further weakened by frost and wind, which reduces its ability to regenerate.

This is especially important in everyday life, but particularly also when practicing winter sports and spending long hours, e.g., on the slopes in low temperatures.

Why shouldn't winter hand care be limited to just moisturizing?

Sun protection is just as important as hydration, because the skin during this period is dealing with many different damaging factors, not just dehydration. In addition to the aforementioned frost and wind, hands are exposed to dry air in heated rooms, as well as UV radiation, which in winter (especially reflected off snow) can be just as harmful as in summer.

Effective hand care should work in two ways:

  1. Protect against UV radiation, which accelerates aging.
  2. Intensely moisturize to support the skin's hydrolipid barrier.

What ingredients should you consider when choosing the ideal hand care product?

For example, Hyaluronic acid, SPF = this provides real anti-aging protection, moisturizes, and protects the epidermis.

Handy lab. Extreme Hyaluron hand cream with SPF30 combines both of these elements. The hyaluronic acid in the formula binds water in the epidermis, improving skin elasticity and smoothness, while the SPF 30 filter provides daily protection against UVA and UVB radiation – not only in summer, but all year round. The additional content of vitamin C beautifully brightens the skin, and vitamin A smoothes and regenerates.

Hands say more than you think

Dermatologists have been emphasizing for years that discoloration and loss of firmness on the hands often appear faster than on the face. It is precisely the hands that very often reveal age, even if the face looks young and fresh.

Daily use of hand cream with SPF is one of the simplest, yet most underestimated skin care steps you can give yourself. Just a small change in habit – cream with SPF after every hand wash or before leaving the house – to genuinely slow down the skin aging process.
