In the second instalment of the conversation in the series "Inspirational Women" hosted by Izabela Janachowska - Founder and editor-in-chief of Party & Wedding, TV presenter, YouTuber, style creator and creator of the first wedding Concept Store in Poland.
What do you start your day with?
When it comes to such a first activity right after waking up - always with a warm cup of tea. Moments later, I run to wake up my son, because most of the time we already have to quickly gather for school. I love weekends for such a slow start to the day and celebrating the morning
One of your greatest passions is travel - what is your dream trip?
Since Chrisek was born, every trip has been my dream trip. Being able to explore the world with this very resolute little fellow is a whole new dimension of travel. However, if I had to point in one direction - I dream of a cruise to Antarctica.
What is your self - care travel essential, what can't be missing from your make-up bag?
I try to make the most of my time on the go for the things I sometimes lack time for in my daily run. I read books, watch overdue films and take a moment to nurture myself. I always take with me Handy Lab Extreme Hyaluron hand mask, plus hand cream - the air on the plane is very dry, so I try to 'feed' my skin this way
How do you look after your body? What diet do you follow, how many times a week do you exercise? Cardio or pilates?
Lately, I am ashamed to admit, I have not been giving it my due attention. Of course, I try to maintain a healthy, balanced diet, but, especially during holiday trips, this is not always the case. I really like Pilates, but unfortunately I don't have much time for it.
You're an expert in the wedding industry - hint at the first step in organising a wedding - where do you start? Planning the budget, looking for rings, the venue or do you need to approach it completely differently?
From discussing their dreams and visions. The wedding and reception is to fulfil a dream both brides and grooms, so it's important to discuss the most important issues right from the start: the size of the wedding, the venue, the style. Then you have to deal with the budget: find out how much money you have at your disposal, how much you can still put aside or get from your parents or grandparents. Only then should you start making binding and costly decisions - then there is a chance that the budget will not be exceeded too much. A few years ago I created the "Until the Wedding" Guide and a series of e-books in which I try to guide brides and grooms through this intricate process.
If you were to organise your wedding a second time, what would it look like
The same as the first one or... completely different. I think today, just like 10 years ago, I would struggle to choose one style or theme. I would certainly have listened to my stylist and hairdresser, which would have helped me avoid any slip-ups. I still recall that day with great emotion.
The greatest value you want to pass on to your son?
My husband and I are trying to raise him to believe that he can achieve anything he dreams of - if he works hard for it. I would like him to be brave enough to go through life, pursue his plans and reach new heights. I myself brought these beliefs from home and I know that this was the best I could get from my parents.
What to wear to a wedding as a guest?
This is always a difficult question, and the answer depends on many factors. You need to match your outfit to the dress code (if, of course, one has been defined), the theme and your own style. Minimalist, simple dresses are always a good option - they will suit many situations, and by changing accessories you can easily change the nature of the look. Many girls have written to me about this and, in a wave of these messages, I have even decided to create two unique models of dresses that are sure to work for summer wedding receptions. On my website janachowska.pl there is no shortage of inspiration and creations for different occasions.
